Darcy Pendergrass is the head winemaker for Amity Vineyards and a native Oregonian. In 1999, she received her BS in Microbiology from the University of Montana. Upon returning home to her native state of Oregon she signed up for Winemaking courses at Chemetketa Community College in Salem and found her true passion, creating world-class wine, particularly Pinot noir and Riesling.
Darcy found her way to Amity Vineyards in 2001 starting out in the tasting room and working her way up the ranks and eventually becoming head winemaker prior to the 2008 vintage. In her modest spare time, she has served as a judge at several amateur and professional wine competitions. In addition, she has worked two vintages in New Zealand for her friends at Dry River Winery. |

Robert Taylor is the Vineyard Manager and when time allows, the able bodied assistant winemaking cohort (glorified cellar person) of one Darcy Pendergass. Robert is not a native Oregonian, but rather an upstate New Yorker, hailing from sunny and balmy Rochester. After graduating from the University of Dayton in 1998 with a double major in Political Science and Communications, Robert took up a job with the local PBS affiliate as their senior editor.
After eight years of being confined to a windowless closet surrounded with television monitors, and a little inspiration from a 1982 Chateau Lynch Bages, Robert moved to Salem, Oregon to enroll in Vineyard Management classes at Chemeketa Community College. In addition to working for Amity Vineyards, Robert has also worked a vintage for Bethel Heights and helped install a new vineyard for Firesteed Cellars.
When not a work, Robert enjoys spending time with his wife Lisa and their newfoundland Maxwell. They can often be found eating and drinking their way around the city of Portland. |
